Using technology similar to that of guiding bombs to their targets, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a precision airdrop of water tanks to soldiers battling Palestinians in Gaza.
The logistical airdrop involved parachuting approximately 7 tons of water to several hundred IDF soldiers currently engaged in combat in Khan Yunis. This specialized supply operation was coordinated through collaborative efforts, featuring the deployment of the "Shimshon" aircraft by the 103rd Squadron in conjunction with the Technology and Logistics Division and the aerial supply unit of the Marom Brigade.
The execution of this airdrop marked the first operational deployment of the "Guided Supply" system—an operational framework facilitating the precise parachute delivery of equipment to ground forces through advanced navigational capabilities. This event holds historical significance as it represents the first operational use of the system and the initial airdrop mission since the Second Lebanon War.
Distinguishing the operational capabilities of the 98th Division is its autonomous logistical proficiency, particularly crucial in scenarios where conventional ground supply routes are impractical. The division's various components collaborated seamlessly, refining their collective skills in the joint utilization of the "Guided Supply" system to achieve unparalleled precision in parachute deliveries, the IDF said.
