USAF F-22 Crashes After Flypast to Honor Coronavirus First Responders

A USAF F-22 fighter jet crashed at the Eglin Air Force base, Florida minutes after a group of fighter jets performed a flypast to honor coronavirus first responders.

The crash happened in Okaloosa County and the pilot was taken to a nearby hospital, local channel, WWLP News reported quoting US Air Force officials.

The flyover included locations in Panama City Beach, Panama City and Lynn Haven. It was also supposed to include Mexico Beach and Gulf County but a portion of the flyover was canceled.

A later report said the location of the accident was 12 miles northeast of Eglin main base on the test and training range. The mission was a routine training flight with the 33rd Fighter Wing and was unrelated to the Air Force Salute Flyover today, the channel said quoting from the official Facebook post of the base.
