The Russian Ministry of Defense has claimed that its troops used electronic warfare systems to neutralize three Kamikaze drones near Ukraine’s Zaporozhye nuclear power plant (ZNPP).
The drones were destroyed while they were approaching the station. It is reported that two drones fell on the roof of the training center. There were no casualties or destruction as a result of neutralization.
On September 1, Russian forces eliminated Ukrainians who attempted to seize the ZNPP. Ukrainian groups of up to 60 people in seven boats landed on the coast of the Kakhovka reservoir, 3km from the station.
Russia has also claimed that from 08:00 a.m., the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been shelling the meeting point of the IAEA mission in the area of Vasylivka and the Zaporizhzhya NPP. Four shells exploded at a distance of 400m from the first power unit.
Earlier, Ukrainian troops broke through the roof of the ZNPP building, where fuel for the reactors is stored. The previous attempt by the Ukrainian military to stage a provocation with the creation of a man-made disaster, carried out with the help of a UAV, was unsuccessful.
