Aero India 2015 To Be Based On 'Make In India' Theme

Aero India 2015 is likely to choose Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ campaign as its theme.

The biennial show will focus on Indian firms signing up MoUs with foreign companies during the show and utilizing defense offsets to create a vibrant domestic defense industrial base.

As per the offset clause, companies that have signed deals with India are required to source components worth 30 per cent of contract value from Indian suppliers.

The show will also focus on fighter aircraft acquisition in India, evaluation on technology transfer, absorption and development benefits from indigenous development versus licensed production or joint development.

Future of cyber warfare and role of cyber security in Defense and aerospace, role of changing DPSU in promoting public private partnerships are other major areas of focus.

Aero India 2015 will be held in Bangalore from 18-22 February 2015.
