Indian Navy Likely To Get Two Midget Subs Worth $482 Million Each

Indian Navy is likely to get two strategic operating vessels (SOVs) also known as midget submarines on Hindustan Shipyard Limited that can boost the underwater capability costing an estimated $482 million each, the Hindu reported today.

According to the report, the Request for proposal (ROP) will be notified in a couple of months.

“We are expecting to ground work on the project by completing all the procedures by the year-end and deliver it in three years,” HSL Chairman and Managing Director Rear Admiral N.K. Mishra was quoted as saying by the daily.
