Lockheed Martin has appointed Rodney A. Makoske as senior vice president, Corporate Engineering, Technology, and Operations and corporate officer and Dana Jackson as vice president and chief technology officer (CTO).

Both appointments are effective immediately and follow the retirement of Ray Johnson on February 1, 2015, the company announced in its press release on February 18.

In his new position, Makoske is responsible for providing corporate leadership in the strategic areas of technology, engineering, production, supply chain, program management, and sustainment operations.

He also oversees the recruitment, retention and development of the company’s engineering and operations workforce and ensures engineering, technical and operational excellence across the enterprise as the principal engineering and operational leader.

"Rod is an exceptional leader with a proven track record of driving program excellence, leading complex technical projects and delivering outstanding results for a broad range of U.S. and international customers," said Lockheed Martin Chairman, President and CEO Marillyn Hewson. ROD has worked with Lockheed Martin for 27 years.

As CTO, Jackson is responsible for overseeing the Corporation's advanced technology strategy and the maturation of future innovations. He is also responsible for managing Martin's research and development relationships with colleges and universities, industry and international partners, and the U.S. government science and technology community.
