Ukraine Receives New BTR-70 Armored Personnel Carriers

National Guard of Ukraine received new armored carriers BTR-70 from Ukroboronprom, repaired by state enterprise “45 Experimental Mechanical Plant” specialists, the company said in a statement last week.

After engines and propulsion systems overhaul, all armored vehicles went to Yavoriv military training ground in Lviv region for tests. Armored vehicles were equipped with slat armor, allowing withstanding grenade launcher hits. 

Powers of state enterprise "45 Experimental Mechanical Plant" allow repair up to 70-80 units of such equipment per year. 

Prior to repair, armored vehicles were based in Artemivsk.

State enterprise "45 Experimental Mechanical Plant" specializes in transportation, refilling, pumping and storage of petroleum products. Last year the enterprise produced the latest fuel transporters. Plant production capacity is reoriented to ATO needs and combat equipment reconstruction.
