Airbus has won an approximate $1.3 billion deal to supply four A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport Aircraft to South Korea by 2019.
Airbus beat Boeing and IAI in the competition. The first two tanker aircraft will be delivered by 2018 followed by other two the following year.
Airbus A330 MRTT was pitted against Boeing KC-46 Pegasus and Israel Aerospace Industries’ B767 MMTT.
The result of its two-month bidding process was made in an announcement by Kim Si-cheol, spokesman of the Defense Acquisition Procurement Agency.
A330 MRTT can conduct air-to-air refueling, military transport and aerial medical evacuations.
