Iran Denies Russian Missiles Fell On Its Territory

The Iranian ministry of defense has denied a US media claim that four of 26 cruise missiles fired from Russia's Caspian fleet at Syria’s IS militants have fallen in Iran.

We have not received any report indicating the crash of the Russian missiles on Iranian territories, an unnamed official at the Iranian Defense Ministry responded. He also called the allegations as "psychological war".

Russia's Defense Ministry also denied the reports of the alleged incident.  "All missiles have hit their designated targets", the Russian Defense ministry was quoted as saying by Fars News Agency Thursday.

"No matter how unpleasant and unexpected for our colleagues in the Pentagon and Langley was yesterday's high-precision strike on Islamic State (of Iraq and the Levant) infrastructure in Syria, the fact remains that all missiles launched from our ships have found their targets,"Russian defense ministry's spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said.

The four Russian Navy warships had fired a total of 26 missiles at the positions of the ISIL terrorist group in Syria, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said Wednesday.

Russia has set to launch surgical air strikes against the militants in Syria on September 30 by Sukhoi Su-25 ground attack planes, Su-24 and Su-34 bombers. The Russia's move followed the request of Syrian President Basshar Shoigum, the ministry added.

Earlier Thursday CNN reported, quoting Pentagon officials as saying, that at least four of the Russian cruise missiles have crash-landed in Iran.

The CNN report followed the Russian army's announcement that all the 26 missiles hit and completely destroyed their targets in the Syrian provinces of Raqqa, Idlib and Aleppo.
