In 2015, Kalashnikov had increased supplies of firearms by nearly nine times in absolute terms and fivefold in cash terms over 2014 in Asia.

“We have been able to come back and strengthen cooperation with Asia-Pacific nations. It would be inappropriate to us to reveal contract pricing details, but we can clearly state that we have achieved a considerable growth in the level of cooperation with APAC countries,” Kalashnikov CEO Alexey Krivoruchko said in a press release Monday.

“Over the last two years the company has substantially stepped up its cooperation with Asia-Pacific nations. To us it is one of the potential sales markets where Kalashnikov has not had any physical presence since 2001,” Alexey said.

Kalashnikov is displaying AK-100 series assault rifles, Dragunov sniper rifles and also AK's complete with a general-purpose upgrade package at the ongoing Defense and Security 2015 exhibition in Bangkok.

The display of Kalashnikov assault rifles includes weapons with the NATO-standard caliber of 5.56 mm that is used in Asia-Pacific.

The exhibits also feature the Vityaz submachine gun, the 18.5 KS-K military shotguns and also a broad spectrum of civil-market products: Saiga carbine variants, including the balanced action Saiga MK-107.

Among the upgraded weapons is the 7.62-mm SVD-M sniper rifle, high-precision military products – Krasnopol and Kitolov-2M artillery projectiles.
