Russia’s deployment of its frontline Sukhoi Su-35 fighter aircraft in Syria has attracted interest from military delegations visiting the Dubai Air show.

Officials from several countries visited the Rosoboronexport and Irkut stands to inquire about the performance of Su-35, Su-34 and other aircraft attacking  Islamic  State positions, informed sources told defenseworld.net.

UAE, Indonesia and Brazil have been named as countries having shown interest in purchasing the fighter jet, Sergei Chemezov, general director of Rostec, the holding company of several Russian arms enterprises said. In addition, Algeria, Egypt and Iran could be among potential customers.

"The Su-35 is interactively presented very well, and we are now negotiating with the Emirates for delivery of these aircraft," Sergei Chemezov told reporters on Sunday at the Dubai Airshow-2015.

"There is high interest for the jet, but no strict contracts have been signed]yet. In addition to the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia and Brazil are interested in it," Ria Novosti quoted Chemezov as saying.

International observers have been surprised by the effectiveness of the Russian fleet in Syria considering the high number of sorties flown against the number of aircraft deployed.

Meanwhile, demand has been generated for the Lockheed Martin F-16 fighter following its deployment in Syria and Yemen, news agencies reported.
