Lockheed Martin Wins $116 million Contract For JASSM Missiles

Lockheed Martin has won the US Air Force contract worth $116 million for the development of Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) program.

The contractor will provide JASSM production, system upgrades, integration, sustainment, management and logistical support, the US Department of Defense announced Friday.

Work will be performed at Troy, Alabama, and is expected to be complete by June 29, 2019.

Lockheed Martin’s Joint Air-to Surface Standoff Missile is a long-range, radar-evading cruise missile designed to destroy hostile air defenses before aircraft are within range. JASSM is integrated on multiple aircraft including the B-1, B-2, B-52, F-16, and F-15E.
