Huntington Ingalls Wins $152 Million For US Nuclear Powered Aircraft Carrier Design
CVN 80 Nuclear Warship

Huntington Ingalls has won a $152 million contract for initial advance procurement in support of the fiscal 2018 detail design and construction of nuclear powered aircraft carrier Enterprise (CVN 80).

Initial advance procurement efforts include integrated design, research and development, engineering, and procurement of long lead time materials. The design and construction of a nuclear powered aircraft carrier requires highly technical and specialized knowledge of the ship’s mission, design, systems, and nuclear reactor plants, US Department of Defense said in a statement Tuesday.

Work is expected to be completed by March 2018.
