Serco Wins $38 Million US Air Force HEMP Contract

Serco has been awarded a new $38 million contract to upgrade the High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) Protection of Ballistic Missile Early Warnings Systems supporting the US Air Force at Thule Air Base in Greenland. 

Serco will enhance and modernize the radar's HEMP protection via a design-build-install-test approach supporting U.S. Air Force Space Command and the U.S. Strategic Command, the company said in a statement Friday.

Serco has been performing HEMP radar upgrades for U.S. Air Force Space Command including work at Clear Air Force Station,Alaska; Cavalier Air Force Station, North Dakota; Cape Cod Air Force Station, Massachusetts; and Royal Air Force Flyingdales, United Kingdom.
