Russian industrial enterprises are testing the fifth-generation prospective integrated automated combat control system.

"Starting from 2016, this will allow the Russian Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) to begin equipping the RVSN's modernized control centers and prospective strategic missile systems currently being developed with elements of the integrated automated combat control system," the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry told Interfax on Saturday.

The introduction of these elements will help control both existing and future strategic missile systems for several decades.

"Data exchanges within the integrated automated combat control system are based on a digital system of transmitting combat commands, a solution that will help promptly direct missiles, as well as will help tackle the tasks of the day-to-day activity of the RVSN command, units and divisions," the press service said.

The combat control system used at Yars mobile strategic missile systems helps significantly increase the probability of order dissemination thanks to more advanced means of communication and the use of state-of-the-art information and telecommunications technologies. This solution will make it possible to use missile systems during maneuvers without any distance constraints, as well as broaden the possibility to choose their combat patrol routes, the press service said.

"The application of new mobile control centers will ensure sustainable, undisrupted and in-process control over nuclear weapons, bearing in mind the specifics of the combat application of both existing and prospective strategic missile systems on a real time basis," it said.

The combat control elements developed within the integrated automated combat control systems and the existing multiple communication channels, which have the required endurance and anti-jamming protection, will allow combat control centers' commands to reach both control points of various ranks and immediately launch systems, including in conditions of nuclear effects and electronic countermeasures, Russia's military said.

The process of designing the integrated automated combat control system also tackled the task of import substitution. The system uses only Russian electronic components, including their most advanced samples. The system is ergonomic and has a more convenient user interface.

The latest automated combat control systems of the fourth and fifth generations allow commands to reach directly launch systems, bypassing any in-between elements, including in conditions of nuclear effects and electronic countermeasures.
