Boeing has been awarded a $45 million contract for development, production and sustainment of a KC-46 maintenance training system.

Contactor will provide an integrated contractor-operated and contractor-supported maintenance training system (MTS) for all KC-46 maintenance training.  As an integrated training system solution, the MTS will include interactive multimedia instruction (IMI), classroom facilities in the form of virtual maintenance training systems, and several types of augmented hardware training devices such as landing gear trainers and boom operator trainers, US Department of Defense said in a statement Tuesday.

The overall intent of the KC-46 MTS is to minimize on-aircraft maintenance training. Work is expected to be completed by Feb. 28, 2019.
