Lockheed Martin has been awarded a $132 million contract for two U.S. government-configured KC-130J aircraft to France.
The work is expected to be completed by April 30, 2020, the US department of defense said in a statement Thursday.
France had confirmed its purchase of four C-130J Hercules tactical transports in February this year. Two of these aircraft will have the ability to refuel French rotorcraft fleet.
A contract for the acquisition was signed in January after the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) had authorized the sale of two aircraft and two extended range KC-130J tankers and a spare set of four Rolls-Royce AE-2100D turboprop engines.
