BAE Systems has won a $618 million Pentagon contract to procure Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System II rockets in support of US, Iraq, Lebanon, the Netherlands, Jordan, and Australia.

A key component of the contract is the conversion of 2.75-inch rocket system to a semi-active laser guided precision weapon, the release noted Friday.

APKWS is designed to use on combat helicopters, strike aircraft and remotely piloted vehicles.

Work is expected to be completed in December 2018.
