Oshkosh To Recapitalise US Army's Fleet of Heavy Tactical Vehicles For $269 Million
HEAVY EXPANDED MOBILITY TACTICAL TRUCK

Oshkosh Defence LLC has been awarded multiple contracts worth over $259 million by the US Army to recapitalise the family of heavy tactical vehicles.

Under the terms of contracts, the company will upgrade 470 heavy expanded mobility tactical trucks (HEMTT) and palletised load systems (PLS), in addition to self-recovery winces, providing the same performance and lifecycle cost advantages as new production vehicles.

The first contract is worth $116 million which covers recapitalization of Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Trucks M1977A4; M984A4; M978A4; Palletized Load System M1075A1 (M1075A0 to M1975A1); and Self-Recovery Winches M984A4.

The second contract is worth $88 million for Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Trucks M985A4; M984A4; M978A4; Palletized Load System (PLS); M1075A1; new PLS trailers; and Self-Recovery Winches M984A4.

The first two contracts’ work will be performed in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, with an estimated completion date of August 31, 2018. 

The final contract is worth $55 million for Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Trucks M984A4; M983A4; M1120A4; Palletized Load System (PLS); M1075A1; new PLS trailers; and Self-Recovery Winches M984A4.

This third contract’s work has an estimated completion date of October 31, 2018.
