Rolls-Royce has won $19.6 million modification contract to exercise an option for the procurement of up to three engine assemblies for the E-2D aircraft.
The contract also includes procurement of four power section modules; and two reduction gearbox modules for the aircraft. Work is expected to be completed in September 2018, the US department of Defense said in a statement Wednesday.
The E-2D is powered by two Rolls-Royce T56-A-427A turboprop engines, each rated at 5,100 shp.
