Lockheed Martin Wins $80 Million Modified Ballistic Re-entry Vehicle Contract

Lockheed Martin is being awarded $80 million contract for the modified ballistic re-entry vehicle/re-entry vehicle separation modules.

The contract includes development; production; storage and surveillance; maintenance of delivered hardware and software; and transportation of end items to the designated launch vehicle provider. Options include additional quantity, integration, analysis, and mission support, US Department of Defense said in a statement Tuesday.

The contract will be incrementally funded and fiscal 2017 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $8,000,000 are being obligated at the time of award.

Work is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2022.
