Iran Overhauls F-4 Fighter Jet
The Iranian Air Force has overhauled an F-4 fighter, which was grounded for years.
The 1.5-year-long project at the Shahid Lashkari Air Force Base in northern Tehran Province was finished, using up to 18,000 man-hours, Tasnim News Agency reported Sunday.
The aircraft had undergone a final test and restored to the Air Force’s fleet. The news of the overhaul came as Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami said on Sunday Iran’s Armed Forces are not afraid of any enemy.
Iran had overhauled an F-14, F-7 and a PC7 turbojet trainer in February this year. In 2015, Iranian Air Force experts reportedly overhauled US-made F-7 and F-14 fighter jets, Trend News agency reported Sunday.
Also in 2014 Iran overhauled grounded F-4 and F-14 fighter jets.
