Russian Rostec and Citadel have established a research and production company, ‘Kryptonite’, which will create civilian IT products based on military developments in the field of information security.
Initial investment in the creation of the joint venture will amount to more than 4 billion rubles (US$64 million), the company said in a statement Thursday.
Kryptonite will focus on cryptography and quantum computing, machine learning and large data storage, security solutions based on blocking technology, telecommunications standards and their security.
One of the main tasks of the joint venture will be to attract investments for the commercialization of innovative solutions and technologies created by the enterprises and research institutes of the Russia’s defense industry, as well as the development of its own competencies in the field of information security and work with large data.
The new company will be based at the Automatics concern facility. Rostec has reached to an agreement on complete reconstruction of part of the premises in Moscow to create working space for the new company that includes a permanent exposition of domestic products and technologies.
