India's Tata Technologies has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Vidarbha Defense Industries Association (VDIA) to set up a new aerospace and defense center in Nagpur in the western state of Maharashtra.
The Indian government will help promote technological capabilities and develop skilled resources setting up 'NIRMAN', a not-for-profit common facilitation centre for aerospace and defence and 'UDAN', an initiative to provide competency-based education for engineering institutes and universities, the company said in a statement Monday.
The MoU was signed in the presence of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis at the “Made in Vidarbha – Aerospace and Defence” Summit held last week in Nagpur.
The partnership, supported by the Maharashtra government, will promote the state as an aerospace and defence manufacturing and export hub.
