BAE Systems has won a $72 million contract to deliver air traffic control and landing systems services to United States Navy ships and facilities.

These systems help escort pilots to safe landings on aircraft carriers and other ships and at land facilities, through various weather conditions, US Department of Defense said in a statement Thursday.

Work on the ships includes fleet services, equipment improvement, technical efforts, operational software, test bed efforts, repair, fabrication, and restoration; training; local area network, and quality assurance and system safety.
