The eighth plane carrying components of Russian S-400 air defence systems arrived in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Monday.
“The delivery of S-400 parts to Turkey continues. In connection with this, the eighth aircraft landed at the Murted Airbase in the province of Ankara,” Turkey’s ministry of defense said in a communique.
Deliveries of the Russian systems to Turkey began on 12 July, when three cargo planes delivered several tractors and a loading vehicle from the S-400 complex to Murted Airbase.
The deliveries are expected to be completed by April, 2020.
Russia and Turkey penned a $2.5 billion agreement on the sale of four battalion sets of S-400s to Turkey in late 2017.
