BAE Systems to Equip Germany’s Offshore Patrol Vessels With 57mm Guns

BAE Systems was awarded a contract by German federal police force, Bundespolizei, to supply three Bofors 57 Mk3 naval gun systems for three of its new 86m Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs).

The contract also includes accompanying fire control systems as well as systems integration support. The first unit is scheduled for delivery in 2020, the company said in a statement Tuesday.

BAE Systems was contracted by Indonesia in August to supply 4 of these guns for the Indonesian Navy’s KCR-60 fast-attack vessel programme.
