Rostec to offer Modernization of S.Korean Ka-32s at Seoul ADEX 2019

Russia’s state-owned Rostec State Corporation will put forward a proposal to modernize South Korea’s fleet of Kamov Ka-32 helicopters at Seoul ADEX 2019 exhibition scheduled to begin on October 15.

The Ka-32 choppers will get a new glass cockpit, advanced avionics, powerful VK-2500PS-02 engine and a new firefighting system under the modernisation program, all of which will be on display at the exhibition, Rostec announced Monday.

Ka-32 helicopters are used by South Korean state agencies for performing a wide range of tasks: from firefighting to search and rescue operations and offshore patrolling. Besides, they are used by the country's commercial services as "flying cranes" for construction and installation.

The technical solutions in the avionics of the Ka-32A11M helicopter have already been tested on the civil multipurpose helicopters Ansat, Mi-38 and Ka-62.
