Pentagon Awards Lockheed $1.16B F-35A Contract

The Pentagon awarded Lockheed Martin two contracts with a combined worth of $1.16 billion for F-35A aircraft meant for Australia and United States Air Force (USAF).

The first contract valued $831 million includes  production and delivery of 15 lot 14 F-35A aircraft and associated red gear in support of the Government of Australia. Target for completion of the work is set for March 2023, the US Department of Defense said in a statement Tuesday.

Lockheed won the second deal to supply long lead material, parts and components in support of the Lot 15 production and delivery of 48 USAF F-35A Lightning II aircraft. Work is expected to be completed in June 2023.
