Boeing to Resume 787 Manufacturing Operations

Boeing has said it will resume 787 operations in South Carolina on May 3 or 4, when some of its employees will return to work.

The return includes all operations that were temporarily suspended on April 8 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Senior leaders will return on April 30, and managers will return on May 1, to prepare for the operations resumption.

Only those employees who are asked to return to work by their Managers will be working as per report date and shift assigned. Teammates who are able to work from home will continue to do so.

“Boeing South Carolina (BSC) teammates will return to work beginning with third shift on Sunday, May 3. First and second shift teammates will return to work on Monday, May 4,” the company said.

Around ten days ago, Boeing began aircraft production at Puget Sound facility tasked with building 737 MAX, 747, 767, 777 and 787 aircraft.
