The U.S. military has donated four A-7 Corsair II is a carrier-capable subsonic light attack aircraft to Afghanistan.

The planes were handed over to the Afghan Air Force on September 17, TOLOnews reported.

“The Air Force is now ready and capable of fighting in any part of the country. The enemy’s strategic bases in the country will be destroyed with the help of A-7s,” commented commander of the Afghan Air Force, General Fahim.

Gen Fahim said the enemy's strategic bases in the country are currently being destroyed with the help of A-7 aircraft. He added that the Air Force has the same type of aircraft, trained the same pilots and engineers and can train more young cadres.

Meanwhile, acting defense minister Assadullah Khalid said NATO was living up to its promises to Afghan forces. This is a message that our cooperation will continue as long as the terrorist cells are not destroyed. He says all operations are currently being led and managed by Afghan forces.
