Russia Develops First Motion-Capable Flight Simulators

Russia’s Technodinamika Group owned by state-run Rostec has developed the country’s first aircraft simulator with a motion system that provides feeling of “real flight.”

"They make it possible to get actually a full set of acceleration feelings inherent in a real flight, that is, to feel all the changes of the speed and motion experienced by the vestibular system," Igor Nasenkov, CEO of Technodinamika, was quoted as saying by TASS on Monday.

The multi-purpose simulator makes it possible to practice the elements of piloting, emergencies, learn air navigation, operation of helicopter systems, radio communications and the procedures of coordinating the crew’s actions in normal flight modes. It also enables a pilot to learn how to fly a plane in unfavorable weather conditions when the flight is fully or partially conducted with the help of instruments.
