Rosoboronexport to Supply SR-3M 9mm Assault Rifles to Foreign Country's Special Forces

Russian Rostec State Corporation-owned Rosoboronexport announced today it will supply modernized small-sized 9 mm caliber SR.3M assault rifles to the special forces a foreign partner.

The weapon was developed at the Central Research Institute of Precision Engineering, equipped with a removable silencer, optical sight and is intended for arming Special Forces.

The modernized small-sized machine gun SR.3M is designed with a barrel length of only 136 mm for special cartridges SP5 and SP6 9x39 mm with an initial bullet speed of 310 m / s. This makes the weapon compact and convenient in combat at short distances, including in dense urban areas.

“The main feature of the assault rifle is a removable silencer, which allows in the field to turn an assault rifle for short-range combat into a full-fledged sniper rifle capable of effectively hitting targets at a distance of more than 300 meters. The reliability of the weapon, ease of use, the ability to install night and sniper sights, as well as other special means, make our weapons famous and popular all over the world. Rosoboronexport has signed a new contract for the supply of SR.3M assault rifles to a foreign partner,” Rostec said in a statement.

The modernized small-sized assault rifle SR.3M is designed to engage targets protected by personal body armor, as well as non-armored vehicles. Weighs a machine gun with a silencer and a magazine for 30 rounds 3.2 kg.
