India’s Hindustan-228 Civilian Aircraft completes Ground Run and Low Speed Taxi Trials

Indian state run firm Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) announced the completion of Ground Run and Low Speed Taxi Trials (LSTT) of its indigenously developed civilian aircraft Hindustan-228.

Hindustan-228 is the first fixed wing aircraft built in India.This is also the company’s first foray into the manufacturing of civilian aircraft with its services being tended to only defence customers till present. The trials were a part of the country’s 75th Independence Day.

“HAL’s ‘Made in India’ Civil Aircraft Achieves Major Milestone Carries out Ground Run and Low Speed Taxi Trials," the company posted on its official Twitter account on August 16.

The Hindustan-228 is a 19 seat multirole utility aircraft. The aircraft is built for applications like VIP Transport, Cloud seeding, Passenger transport, Air Ambulance, Surveillance, Photography and cargo applications.
