Israeli firm Rafael announced today that it has been awarded a contract worth approximately $80 million to supply a naval warfare systems suite for Shaldag Mk V Fast Attack Crafts by Israel Shipyards, to an undisclosed country in Southeast Asia.

The name of the country that would receive the equipment was not disclosed. Nevertheless Israeli Shipyards had announced a contract in May this year for Shaldag Mk V Fast Attack Crafts to a country in SE Asia which was widely reported to mean the Philippines.

The naval warfare systems suite includes a Combat Management System (CMS), Typhoon and Mini-Typhoon Remote Operating Weapon Systems, Naval Spike Missiles, Sea-Com Internal Communication System and BNET Tactical Data Link, as well as other components with full maintenance and support services.

Israel Shipyards has won a $127.9 million tender to supply its SHALDAG MK V to the Philippines Navy, the company had announced via Linkedin in May this year. The Notice of Award (NOA) was inked on 04 January 2021 between Israel Shipyards, the Israeli Ministry of Defense, and the Philippines Navy. The deal included supply of 8 Shaldag Mk V fast attack crafts and upgrade of Philippines’ Cavite Naval Shipyard.
