Pentagon Orders Oshkosh JLTV Trucks or U.S.Army, FMS Customers
Joint Light Tactical Vehicle

The U.S. Army has placed an order valued $592 million for over 1,500 Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) trucks and related support.

The contract covers delivery of 1,669 JLTV trucks, 868 JLTV trailers and associated kits and parts.

The contract also cover fiscal 2022 Foreign Military Sales to Slovenia, Montenegro, Brazil and Lithuania.

Work will be performed in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, with an estimated completion date of Aug. 31, 2023.

The Army is fielding the JLTVs as the DoD replacement for up-armored High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles, better known as Humvees. It is acquiring three different JLTV variants including a general purpose vehicle (GP), utility vehicle (UTL), and a heavy guns carrier vehicle (HGC).

Developed by the Army based on the U.S. experience fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, the JLTV is considered a major upgrade from Humvees currently in the field. It’s designed to achieve operational objectives in Performance, Payload and Protection against adversaries and provide better protection against improvised explosive devices.
