Norway has provided Ukraine with 22 M109 155mm tracked self-propelled howitzers and related gear, spare parts and ammunition.

The weapons were provided following Ukraine’s specific request for heavier artillery and weapons systems. Norway had recently retired its M109 artillery guns to storage after they were replaced with new K9 howitzers from South Korea.

Norway has previously delivered 4000 M72 anti-tank weapons, 1500 bulletproof vests, 5000 helmets, 15.000 field rations, 1000 protective masks with filters, 2000 sleeping bags, 10.000 sleeping mats and Mistral air defense systems to Ukraine.
