Observing the policy of transparency in the selection process of the new multirole fighter aircraft for the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), the so-called F-X2 project, the Air Force command (COMAER) completed the collection of information from the companies participating in the selection process, (in alphabetical order) Boeing with the F-18 E/F Super Hornet, Dassault with the Rafale, and Saab with the Gripen NG, for final evaluation. The phase that is now completed constituted the final round of clarifications between the COMAER and participating companies. Each company had equal opportunities to exchange information with the F-X2 Project Management Group (GPF-X2) and to submit its respective best and final offer (BAFO). GPF-X2 is now in possession of all the information obtained during this and previous phases, which were the evaluation of the offers submitted on February 2; discussions and clarification phase (begun on March 2); verification phase comprising technical, logistic and industrial visits and inspections; evaluation flights (beginning March 30) and the evaluation of the revised offers submitted on May 4. The GPF-X2 will continue with the final evaluation of the best and final offers until the end of June.
