Poland Manages to Raise $4.9M to buy Bayraktar for Kyiv
Hundreds of Polish citizens have managed to raise $4.9 million (22.5 million zloty) to buy a Bayraktar TB-2 combat drone for Ukraine.
Similar campaigns have taken place in Ukraine, Lithuania and Norway.
“We are grateful to Sławomir Sierakowski and everyone who took part in raising 22.5 million zloty to buy a Bayraktar TB-2 drone for Ukraine! Dear Poland, we are blessed to have a neighbor like you!” Ukraine’s defense ministry said in a post on Twitter today.
The crowdfunding initiative was launched by a well-known public figure, political scientist and journalist Sławomir Sierakowski on the platform Zrzutka.pl.
A single unit of Bayraktar costs about $5.5 million.
