Ukraine’s Intel Agency Nabs Spy Working for Russian Military Correspondent

The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has arrested a 41-year-old man suspecting him of spying for Russia, and passing information to a Russian military correspondent.

The alleged spy was operating from Ukraine’s capital Kyiv. He received assignments from a Russian citizen who is currently working as a military correspondent for Russia’s state-owned Channel One from captured Ukrainian territories.

The former is said to have been regularly passing sensitive information to the Russian forces through the correspondent since April 2022. To maintain secrecy, the spy used different mobile phone numbers and sent texts only on messenger apps. To identify each other in the network, the ‘subscribers’ used passwords.
