Russia’s newest T-90M tank was captured by the Ukrainians in Kharkiv in perfect condition.

“The newest Russian tank T-90M was found in Kharkiv region in perfect condition. We ask its owner(s) to contact the Ukrainian Army. Please identify yourself by a sign: a white flag,” Ukraine’s MoD posted on its official Twitter account Sunday.

Russian Army received the first batch of T-90M Proryv tanks only in 2020. It was transferred to the 2nd Guards Taman Motorized Rifle Division of the 1st Guards Tank Army.

The tank was most likely abandoned by the Russian military during a hasty retreat from the Kharkiv Region.

The captured T-90M was coated with a radar-absorbent material (RAM) camouflage known as Nakidka. A set of devices for reducing visibility Nakidka is a set of covers made of radio-absorbing material and sections for covering a combat vehicle.

T-90Ms is an upgraded version of the Russian Т-90 MBT, which in turn is an upgrade of the Soviet-era Т-72 tank. These tanks received a fundamentally new turret and a more powerful engine. The tanks were equipped with a new multi-channel sight, ensuring the use of weapons at any time of the day. The tank is equipped with spaced armor and Relikt reactive armor. It can also be equipped with the Arena-M active protection system.
