Russian space agency Roscosmos has agreed to cooperate with two Iranian companies in the field of launch services.
Roscosmos launched Khayyam Iranian Earth remote sensing satellite in August 2022. The Iranian spacecraft was launched into orbit by a Russian Soyuz-2.1b rocket launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
The company confirmed in a Thursday statement that "memorandums on cooperation in the field of launch services with Iranian companies SAHAB and SpaceOmid" had been signed.
Earlier, the signed memorandums by the Russian side were not officially reported.
The Russians reportedly held series of meetings with Iranian officials during Iran Air Show 2022 International Aviation and Space Exhibition in December.
On December 14, Roscosmos head Yuri Borisov said that Russia was ready to discuss cooperation with the country in space vehicles. The two countries have even discussed manned cosmonautics.
