Germany to Purchase 10 PzH 2000 Howitzers to Replace Ukraine-Transferred ones

The German defense ministry said the military will get 10 new 155mm PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzers to replace those transferred to Ukraine.

The Budget Committee of the German Bundestag approved the decision to purchase howitzers for €184 million on March 29.

Funds will be allocated under the “Recovery Initiative,” which is an instrument of the security policy of the German federal government aimed at military assistance of partner countries.

Deliveries will take place in 2025 and 2026.

Ukraine has so far received 14 155-mm PzH 2000 howitzers.

Germany and Slovakia in March agreed to repair German-made armored vehicles, including PzH 2000 howitzers, for Ukraine. Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) is in charge of organizing the repair base.
