Rheinmetall is showcasing its PATH Autonomous Kit (A-Kit) at the AUSA-2023 exhibition, with the primary aim of demonstrating its potential to transform various vehicle platforms into autonomous systems.
The company is displaying the system on an M5 Ripsaw RCV equipped with a 30mm Skyranger turret.
The PATH A-Kit represents a navigation system designed to enable full autonomous mobility for vehicles. It boasts the capability of swift integration into existing vehicles or the latest next-generation platforms. As a core component of Rheinmetall's Mission Master family of autonomous vehicles, this system incorporates advanced sensors, algorithms, and real-time data analysis. These features collectively empower vehicle platforms to operate autonomously in a wide range of operating environments, as demonstrated not only on the Mission Master family but also on various other platforms.
One distinctive feature of the PATH A-Kit is its software, which incorporates wireless technology designed to operate on a Safe Tablet. This tablet is a modular, configurable device that facilitates remote operation of any vehicle equipped with the PATH A-Kit, as showcased on the Mission Master family of vehicles. Beyond remote operation, the Safe Tablet has the capacity to control different mission module payloads, including surveillance, weapons, and cargo, making it the preferred portable control station for the Mission Master family of vehicles and the mission modules they carry.
