ITT,Northrop Grumman win US Navy's JCREW spiral 3.3 development and demonstration Contracts

The U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command has awarded firm-fixed-price contracts to two companies for material and services to support system development and demonstration phase through preliminary design review for the three capabilities (dismounted, mounted and fixed site) of the Joint Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) Electronic Warfare (JCREW) 3.3 System of Systems. The systems will provide combat troops protection against RCIEDs. CREW systems are designed to provide protection for foot soldiers, vehicles, and permanent structures. ITT Force Protection Systems of Thousand Oaks, Calif. was awarded $16 million (N00024-09-C-6316), while Northrop Grumman Space and Mission Systems, Network Communication Systems, of San Diego, Calif. was awarded $24.3 million (N00024-09-C-6317). ITT will perform work in Clifton, N.J., Annapolis Junction, Md., and Thousand Oaks, Calif. Northrop Grumman will perform work in San Diego, Calif., Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Kileen, TX. Work for both contracts will be completed in March 2010.
