The fifth TNI AU C-130J-30 Super Hercules aircraft, bearing tail number A-1342, touched down at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base Apron in Jakarta, on May 16.

Manufactured by Lockheed Martin, the military transport aircraft's arrival was greeted by the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Air Force (Wakasau), Air Marshal Madya TNI Andyawan Martono Putra.

The ferry flight of the C-130J-30 Super Hercules A-1342 originated from Marietta, passing through San Diego, Honolulu, Marshal Island, Guam, before reaching its final destination at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base. Commanded by the Commander of the 31st Air Squadron, Lt. Col. Pnb Alfonsus Fatma Astara Duta, the flight included Major Pnb Ulung P and Lt. Tek Diky among its crew.

Preceded by four similar aircraft arriving in March, June, August 2023, and January 2024, it further strengthens Air Squadron 31 Wing I at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base.

The C-130J-30, designed for various air transport missions, features glass cockpit technology and a Rolls Royce AR2100D3 Turboprop engine with a top speed of 410 MPH or 356 KTAS.

Key improvements in the C-130J Super Hercules include enhanced fuel protection and cargo handling systems, a more sophisticated flight station system, and a fully integrated digital avionics system. The aircraft is also equipped with a head-up display, advanced navigation with a dual inertial navigation system and GPS, enhancing its capabilities for Indonesia's defense requirements.
