The U.S. State Department has approved a potential Foreign Military Sale to the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) for Alliance Ground Surveillance (AGS) Program Equipment and Support, estimated at $250.2 million.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has notified Congress of this possible sale today, marking a significant step in enhancing NATO's intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities.
The NSPA has requested additional radar equipment spares and various support items that will complement a previously implemented case valued at $40.26 million. This initial case included AGS system equipment and support such as AN/APG-68 radar processors, Global Hawk engine controllers, spare components, repair support, and various classified and unclassified materials.
The new notification encompasses both previously included non-MDE AGS system equipment and additional services. These include AN/APG-68 radar processors, Global Hawk engine controllers, communications equipment spares, classified and unclassified components, consumables, repair and return support, facilities storage, technical documentation, software support, transportation, and comprehensive engineering, technical, and logistics services.
The overall aim of this sale is to bolster NATO’s capacity to address present and future threats through improved and sustained surveillance and reconnaissance operations.
Northrop Grumman, based in Mojave, CA, will be the principal contractor for this project.
