Textron Systems has announced that the U.S. Army is deploying its Soldier Portable OSRVT (SPOT) system to enhance situational awareness for soldiers on the battlefield.

The SPOT system is an evolution of Textron Systems' One System Remote Video Terminal (OSRVT), which has been utilized by all U.S. Army Brigade Combat Teams and Special Forces Groups for the past 15 years.

The SPOT system provides soldiers with full-motion video, imagery, and critical data directly to their handheld devices. It features a compact design, intuitive displays, and a bi-directional antenna configuration, weighing less than eight pounds and designed to withstand harsh environments. The system aims to provide soldiers with enhanced expeditionary capability and empower them with real-time situational awareness.
