European Customer Asks Rheinmetall to Supply 35mm AHEAD Ammo for Skynex ADS

A European customer country has finalized a contract with Rheinmetall for the procurement of 35mm AHEAD ammunition to bolster its Skynex air defence system.
The contract is valued in the low three-digit million EUR range.
Under the terms of the agreement, Rheinmetall will manufacture cartridges, totaling a six-digit number, to support the operational readiness of the Skynex system. Skynex, which relies on cannon-based air defence, is designed for close-range protection scenarios, where traditional guided missile systems may not be as effective.
Moreover, the utilization of Rheinmetall's ammunition provides a distinct advantage by mitigating the susceptibility to electronic countermeasures. Once fired, the 35mm ammunition remains impervious to manipulation or diversion.
