WB Group, Leonardo Partner to Develop AI- Driven Tactical Drones

Leonardo and WB SA Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on September 4 at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce.

The MoU details their joint efforts to develop and explore business opportunities for tactical unmanned aerial vehicles and loitering munitions, with a focus on AI-driven technologies and swarm operations.

WB Group and Leonardo have agreed to collaborate on developing advanced light and medium tactical unmanned reconnaissance and strike systems, both in Poland and globally.

The MoU focuses on industrial cooperation, emphasizing autonomous air platforms, AI-integrated systems, and  unmanned vehicle technologies to address modern battlefield requirements.

The partnership will utilize their expertise in military electronics and reconnaissance to create effective unmanned and strike systems for integrated combat and multi-domain operations.

Joint efforts will include analyzing and combining their capabilities in unmanned systems and AI, aiming to produce tactical platforms and cost-efficient strike solutions that can operate in electronic warfare environments and GPS-denied areas.
